SurveyMonkey allows users to create surveys with various question types, including multiple-choice, Likert scales, and open-ended responses. The platform’s free plan supports basic features, while premium subscriptions start at $25 per month, offering advanced tools like data exports, logic branching, and branding customization (SurveyMonkey Inc., n.d.). Surveys can be distributed via email, web links, or social media, and the user-friendly interface ensures accessibility for all skill levels (Blair et al., 2014). Survey results are presented in visual formats like charts and graphs, making data interpretation straightforward. The platform also supports integration with tools like Google Forms, Excel, and PowerPoint for seamless workflow management. I use SurveyMonkey for cohort and workshop pre-work, pre-tests, and posttests. For pre-work I ask questions related to learner understanding of prereading and content to be presented. This allows me to use callbacks to questions and learner responses prior to class and focus on learner challenges while facilitating. I also use SurveyMonkey for pre-tests and posttests during class. I can insert QR codes on slides for learners to use on their phones. I compare pretests to posttests to assess learner improvement workshops and collect quantitative and qualitative feedback regarding my alignment with andragogical principles and how to improve content. So, users can adapt SurveyMonkey surveys for various educational needs. SurveyMonkey’s analytics features also allow educators to identify trends and implement data-driven improvements (Blair et al., 2014).
